Glass Blowing Heats up Sacramento
Welcome to a very HOT site – Sacramento Art Glass, where we celebrate the ancient art of glass blowing. There is an alchemy, an irresistible magic to glass blowing. It's an exacting and delicate art that requires immense patience, dexterity and creativity. Glass blowing has enjoyed a surge in popularity as appreciation for the innovative work of artists such as Dale Chihuly, Lino Tagliapietra and William Morris spread around the world.
As one of the new wave of glass blowers, Rene Steinke is pushing the boundaries of glass art and creating exciting new work while teaching glass blowing classes to the community. In addition, Sac Art Glass is gathering place for artists – flame workers, metal artists, sculptors and painters who participate in Second Saturday events at the Sacramento studio.

Rene’ has been teaching the art of glass blowing for almost 10 years, with students as young as 8 years old as well as more mature people following their creative muse. Because of the large investment in equipment, it’s not easy to experience the thrill of blowing glass and Rene’ enjoys providing that opportunity. He also does glass blowing demonstrations at other art galleries and public events.
