We are currently offering prospective students several options for stained glass and fused glass learning!

Please read all of the details below before signing up for your class!

Three Hour Beginner Stained Glass Workshop

Our Three Hour Beginner Workshops are designed to be friendly to those who have never tried stained glass before, but definitely fun for folks of all experience levels! During these one-day workshops, students will be given the opportunity to create a variety of different functional and fun items including mirrors, picture frames, plant stakes, candle holders, and more! Each workshop will have students working on the same project, where they will chose from a variety of pre cut glass pieces to assemble a unique piece of art which they will then foil and solder together. Students will leave the class with a finished item which can be used as soon as they’re home! Each workshop will last approximately three hours with some built in overflow time in case anyone doesn’t finish their piece within the scheduled class hours. All supplies and tools necessary for the completion of the project will be provided to the students, including any necessary PPE (personal protective equipment).

Four Week Beginner Stained Glass Course

Our four week beginner course is designed for those who are interested in receiving in depth instruction on how to create a stained-glass panel from start to finish, and is friendly to those with little to no prior stained glass experience. Students will get to choose from six custom patterns that they can create during their class, and will be given sheet glass in the colorway of their choosing for that pattern (patterns are listed below the scheduling tool) . Skills covered during this course include:

  • Cutting glass

  • Using a wet grinder to shape glass

  • Foiling glass using copper tape

  • Soldering

  • Framing the piece in lead came

  • Attaching hardware for hanging the piece

  • Cleaning and polishing the piece

The class is scheduled to be completed in four sessions over four weeks. Each session of the class will last approximately two and a half hours with 30 minutes of overflow time if any student should need extra time. Students will leave the class with a finished piece of art ready to hang in their home! All supplies and tools necessary for the completion of the project will be provided to the students, including any necessary PPE (personal protective equipment).

Beginner Stained Glass Crash Course

If you’re interested in learning how to fully construction your own stained glass creation but can’t fully commit to a four week course, this is the option for you! In this class, student will learn all of the skills covered in the four with course but at faster pace in a one day, six hour format. The skills covered during this course include

  • Cutting glass

  • Using a wet grinder to shape glass

  • Foiling glass using copper tape

  • Soldering

  • Framing the piece in lead came

  • Attaching hardware for hanging the piece

  • Cleaning and polishing the piece

    ALL of the same skills covered in the four week course!

Students will leave the class with a finished piece of art ready to hang in their home! All supplies and tools necessary for the completion of the project will be provided to the students, including any necessary PPE (personal protective equipment). Different patterns will be offered each month so that students who are interested in retaking the course can make a new piece each time!

Intermediate Stained Glass Courses

Our intermediate Stained glass courses are designed for those who have some prior experience and knowledge in stained glass but would like to up their skills and learn more advanced techniques! Each intermediate course will cover a different technique, concept, or skill in detail and will send students home with a deeper knowledge of their craft and samples of work to reference in their own design process. These classes will be offered intermittently, please contact our instructor for more information on our intermediate class options and future class dates!

Beginner Three Hour Fused Glass Workshops

Glass fusing is the art of melting sheets of glass together in a kiln to create a unique work of art with can be decorative or functional! Once we introduce heat to the process of working with glass of whole new world of possibilities opens up for us to be able to create intricate, abstract, and wild creations that we would not be able to manufacture in stained glass. There is a wide world of class fusing projects and techniques to explore, and in each our three hour fused glass workshops, our instructor will teach students the process of creating a variety of objects including things like bowls, vases, sculptures, jewelry, art pieces, and more!

Each class will work to create a different fused glass project, but all fused glass workshops will cover the same basic skills of:

  • Glass compatibility

  • Different kiln schedules and firing techniques

  • How to work with different glass materials

  • Cutting glass

  • Appropriately constructing your final piece

These classes are suitable for students of any experience level and are a fast fun way to learn different construction, color, and design techniques in fused glass while having fun creating a unique piece of art in any style at your own pace! Examples will be provided but students are encouraged to step out of the box and get creative in these workshops! Pieces will be fired after class is finished and will be available one day or more after class has ended, pickup times will vary by class.

Need to Know Before Arrival

The following rules and restrictions apply to anyone interested in signing up for a stained glass class:

  • Limited to ages 14 and up.

  • All participants must sign a waiver upon arrival at the studio.

  • Closed-toed shoes are required to participate in class.

  • All medical/physical restrictions must be declared at the time of reservation as a part of the new student form. This class includes standing for long periods of time and using a respirator while soldering.

  • For classes conducted in one day if you arrive to your class late, we will do our best to accommodate you but cannot guarantee that you will leave with a finished piece, so please do your best to arrive on time.

  • For classes conducted over multiple weeks, you will be given one makeup day at the end of the class series if you either do not finish your piece in the allotted time, or, have to miss one of your scheduled class periods. If you miss more than one class period, we cannot guarantee that you will end the class with a finished piece.

** Closed toed shoes are shoes that cover your whole foot (NO KEENS, NO CROCS, NO SLIPPERS/FLIP-FLOPS, NO WATER SHOES)

During these classes we will be working with/around hazardous materials including glass dust, lead solder, acid flux and solder patina. All necessary PPE will be provided to students for their safety during the class, but please consider if you feel comfortable and confident working with/around these materials before signing up for a class.

Students can cancel or reschedule their class up to 24 hours before the start of the class and receive a full refund, failure to do so means you forfeit the cost of your class and will not be refunded. Please contact us if you have any questions about rescheduling or cancellations.

Classes will always be posted a month at a time on the 20th of the month two months prior. For example, Classes for the month of March will always be posted on the 20th of January. Please let us know if you have any questions about future classes and when they will be offered.

For stained glass private events, we can accomedate up to five students. For glass fusing private events, we can accomedate up to nine students. These events can only be held on workday afternoons/evenings or weekends.
